Meg Whitman was born in Long Island, New York but fell in love with California when her mother took her and her siblings to “car-camp” throughout the west. She was a strong student, and also an athlete at Princeton University, where she got her degree in economics. After that she went to Harvard Business School, receiving her MBA. After some ups and downs and hard work she became the vice president at the consulting firm Bain and Co.’s San Francisco office. This led her to meeting a tiny start-up company called eBay. She joined the eBay workings, and made history. In 2008 John McCain asked her to serve as National Co-Chair for Palin and himself. She did a lot of campaigning for them, and showed hard work and focus. After this she traveled the nation talking to voters. As California’s economic crises really started to come to a head her time at eBay came to a close. She saw the struggle in California and in February 2009 she announced that she was going to run for the Governor of California.
